Finishing things up

The Dream Builders met again today to put everything together as a final product. We are very excited to present this proposal since we have seen this develop from basic ideas to an actual proposal. We did a little more editing on our pages, and added a few aesthetic touches to everything to make them more appealing.

We also had the chance to view the proposal of our fellow classmates, which helped us solve a few problems we had with developing a screen shot for our web page. We also saw that everyone had their own distinct style in developing the website which got us excited in knowing that we also will have our own style that will stand out.

Blog for week ending October 21st

This week was very productive because we got to have two team meetings. Our first was on Tuesday, October 16th and the second on Thursday, October 18th. During these two meetings we separated our individual duties as well as group duties that needed to be accomplished by the end of the week.
We laid down our format for the proposal, and since there is a lot that needed to be done we separated duties. I (Jon) was chosen to write a letter to Shelby and Habitat for Humanity explaining our proposal an what our mission statement was for the project. In return, Jaime searched background, Anna mission/vision statement. Overall our progress has been coming along and look forward to updating next week with new results.

Meeting 10/11

During our meeting we looked at some sample proposals, and got a general idea of how we wanted to organize ours. We discussed how we wanted to incorporate pictures into our logo. Also, we decided which part of the proposals each of us would work on until the next group meeting. This meeting was very productive because we were able to establish a framework for incorporating our ideas into our proposal.

In Class Ethics Consideration

Our example was the Ford Pinto. The Pinto was criticized for having a major design flaw that jeopordized the safety of its passengers. The Pinto, if hit from behind at the right angle, could explode due to the fuel tank being punctured. The Ford Motor Co. refused to redesign or recall the car. They decided it was more financially efficient to pay for the lawsuits that could arise from this problem rather than change the design of the car. As a result, Ford faced many lawsuits and criminal charges.
